چکیده

Oral Lichen planus(OLP)is a chronic autoimmune cell-mediated inflammatory disease. Most OLP patients complain of xerostomia/dry mouth due to changes in the oral mucosal protective barrier. Mucin 5B(MUC5B)is predominate gel-forming mucin cavity that protects underlying tissue from mechanical damage, chemical insult, and pathogenic microbes. This study aims assess MUC5B subjects correlate its role etiopathogenesis. The included 20 10 healthy controls. were divided further into keratotic(reticular)and non-keratotic(atrophic/erythematous)groups based on clinical criteria. Dryness was confirmed by subjective(Xerostomia Inventory, XI; Bother Index, BI)and testing(Clinical Score, CODS)method. Stimulated, unstimulated saliva blood samples collected subjects. Samples centrifuged analysed for level using an ELISA kit. subjective testing methods which clinically define xerostomia are correlated with age sex stimulated salivary flow rate lower(p<0.05)than controls associated XI, BI, CODS(p<0.01). In contrast, increased serum compared controls(p<0.05). xerostomia, displayed lower flow, decrease increase serum. Alteration causes alterations affecting protection OLP.

Lichen planus and lichenoid reactions of the oral mucosa.

Oral lichenoid reactions represent a common end point in response to extrinsic agents (drugs, allergens), altered self-antigens, or superantigens. Oral lichen planus, a common and under-recognized inflammatory disorder, shares many clinical and histopathological features with oral lichenoid drug reaction and oral lichenoid contact reaction. Clinical presentation can vary from asymptomatic white...

Erosive LP usually presents with pain while eating, especially with spicy foods. There is usuall...
